FASTCNFG DEVICE Attributes for Supported TTAP
Printers Connected Through AWAN Servers or
POLLNUM =
poll-number
specifies the number of times FASTPTCP polls a device while waiting for the busy
device to become free. Typically a device signals busy as a means of flow control.
When POLLNUM is exhausted, FASTPTCP reports error 100 to the Spooler
supervisor. The default value is 30.

Note.
POLLINT and POLLNUM determine the interval and number of times FASTPTCP
solicits device status. Under normal circumstances, you can rely on FASTPTCP default values
for controlling the communications session. However, because TTAP connections solicit
information from the printer, the POLLINT and POLLNUM parameters are available for
customizing communications behavior. You should use these attributes carefully, and only in
special network situations where congestion or other delays are known to be affecting
FASTPTCP performance, or where job length prevents end-of-job detection.

HOSTS $DATA2.TCPIP.HOSTS ! If not specified name / address
! resolution comes from DNS server
DEVICE $LASER ! 5574 via TELNET Terminal Server
CONTYPE = TCP/IP-TELNET
ADDRESS = Tser1 ! Resolved from HOSTS file or DNS
PORT = 4002 ! Identifies actual printer port
PROTOCOL = TTAP ! Printer employs Tandem TTAP protocol
IDLETIMEOUT = 60 ! Clear connection after 60 seconds
