FASTCNFG DEVICE Configuration For FASTPXNS
FASTCNFG DEVICE Configuration For
FASTPXNS
Each Xerox printer must be represented by a DEVICE entry in the FASTCNFG file.
DEVICE information can be added to deleted from, or changed in the FASTCHFG file
at any time. However, updated information for a device becomes effective only after
the FASTPXNS print process controlling the device reads the information. Remember,
to instruct the FASTPXNS print process to read the FASTCNFG file, you must set bit 5
(%2000) of the PARM attribute using the Spoolcom DEV command.
For a complete discussion about the use and creation of the FASTCNFG file, see
Configuring a FASTCNFG File
on page 2-17. The syntax for a DEVICE entry for a
Xerox printer is as follows:
where the required attributes are defined as follows:
Note.
If the HP host and Xerox printer are connected to different LAN segments and XNS
routers (rather than bridges) are used to link the segments, then the source network
(SNETWORK), destination network (DNETWORK), and router address (ROUTER) attributes
are required, and must be configured.
