Considerations for FASTPXNS

JSL File
FASTPXNS assumes that a suitable default JSL exists for the purpose of printing
HEADER pages (if enabled) and emits Dynamic Job Descriptor Entry (DJDE)
sequences to select a Job Descriptor Library (JDE) called DFLT within a JDL called
TENET before printing any trailer pages at the end of a job or header and/or trailer
pages between copies of the same job.
If trailer pages (HEADER BATCH) or multiple copies are printed with HEADER ON or
HEADER BATCH, you should ensure that a suitable TENET JDL containing a DFLT
JDE exists so that these pages appear in the desired format. If the above JDL and JDE
do not exist, then FASTPXNS should be instructed to use a JDL and JDE that does
exist by means of the RESETJDL and RESETJDE modifiers in the FASTCNFG
DEVICE entry.
Note that the TENET.JSL file must be PDL-compiled before running the HIP. Other JSL
files can be selected using DJDE commands embedded in suitable Spooler FONT
jobs.
If the JDL/JDE identifies an alternative DJDE sequence, then this alternate sequence
must be identified to FASTPXNS using the DJDE modifier in the FASTCNFG DEVICE
entry. FASTPXNS does not permit the DJDE offset to be configured - only the DJDE
string. FASTPXNS assumes an OFFSET of 0.
The sample HIP.LIB file shown in
Example 7-1
refers to a default JSL file which HIP
uses to process print jobs.
Example 7-2
contains a sample JSL file (TENET.JSL) that
could be used by HIP:
