Spooler Configuration Considerations for
FASTPTCP
4. Beginning with the G06 and D48 RVUs, you also can generate a FASTKCON
key-sequenced configuration file by using the FASTKCUT utility. The use of these
new components is described in detail in
Creating a FASTKCON Configuration File
(Beginning with the G06 and D48 RVUs)
on page 3-40.
Spooler Configuration Considerations for
FASTPTCP
The Spooler configuration tasks required for any FASTP network print process also are
required for the FASTPTCP print process. However, you should give special
consideration to the configuration of the Spooler PRINT PARM attribute and certain
Spooler device attributes for FASTPTCP.
For a complete discussion of the Spooler configuration tasks required to configure a
FASTPTCP print process, see
Configuring a FASTP Network Print Process in the
Spooler Subsystem
on page 2-5.
PRINT PARM Attribute
Beginning with the G06.10 and D48.02 RVUs, when using FASTPTCP, you can also
optionally specify print process configuration parameters for FASTPTCP by adding a
PARM attribute to the Spoolcom PRINT command.
Table 3-1
on page 3-11 describes the PRINT PARM bits that can be specified for a
FASTPTCP process. Note that the PRINT PARM attribute is a 16-bit mask; for a
description of how to calculate the value of a bit mask, see
Calculating the Value of the
PARM Attributes
on page 2-13.
