Spooler FASTP Network Print Processes Manual — 427528-006

FASTP EMS 512 Text Messages

is the job number.

nnnnnn

is the octal return code from the relevant Spooler system operation.

Cause.

The FASTP network print process encountered an unexpected error from the

MBCS_TANDEM_TO_EXTERNAL_ procedure. MBCS conversion is enabled using the
SPOOLCOM DEV CHARMAP configuration parameter.

Effect.

The FASTP network print process reports the error to the Spooler supervisor

causing the Spooler job to be held, but the device can continue to print other jobs.

Recovery.

Ensure that the DEV CHARMAP parameter is set correctly. If the error

persists, contact your service provider as described in

Troubleshooting and Reporting

Problems

on page 8-1.

is the Spooler device name.

fastcnfg

is the FASTCNFG file name.

Cause.

The FASTCNFG entry for this device does not specify a PRINTERADDRESS

parameter, or no FASTCNFG file exists for this device.

Effect.

No printing occurs, the Spooler job is requeued, and the Spooler device is

placed offline.

Recovery.

Correct the PRINTERADDRESS parameter as described in

FASTCNFG

DEVICE Configuration For FASTPXNS

on page 7-11, or add a device record to

FASTCNFG as described in

Configuring a FASTCNFG File

on page 2-17. Restart the

Spooler device. (Depending on the device configuration, the device might restart
automatically.)
