Spooler FASTP Network Print Processes Manual — 427528-006

FASTPTCP Event Messages

proc-name

is the process name of the FASTPTCP process.

device-name

is the Spooler device name.

temp-name

is the name of the temporary disk file, either from the FASTCNFG parameter 
TEMPFILE or a default name.

file-err

is a file-system error code. See the 

Guardian Procedure Errors and Messages 

Manual

 for explanations of file-system errors.

Cause. 

The FASTPTCP process uses a temporary file to stage print job data with 

PROTOCOL = LPD. A file-system error was detected when using this file during an I/O 
operation.

Effect. 

The Spooler job is terminated and requeued, and the Spooler device is placed 

offline.

Recovery. 

Purge the file specified for the TEMPFILE parameter for the device. If 

TEMPFILE specifies a complete file name, either use a unique file name for each 
device, change TEMPFILE to specify only a disk volume name, or completely omit the 
TEMPFILE parameter. Verify that Safeguard permits access to the specified 
TEMPFILE.
