proc-name
is the process name of the FASTPTCP process.
device-name
is the Spooler device name.
file-err
is the file-system error returned by the RESIZESEGMENT procedure. See the
Guardian Procedure Errors and Messages Manual
for explanations of file-system
errors.
Cause.
When attempting to increase the buffer pool for a new device, the FASTPTCP
process encountered an unexpected error from the Guardian RESIZESEGMENT
procedure. When a FASTPTCP process runs out of buffer space in its extended
segment, it attempts to increase this segment 65536 bytes at a time by using the
RESIZESEGMENT procedure. This error indicates the FASTPTCP process requires
additional swap file space.
Effect.
The device is placed offline.
Recovery.
Try reducing the number of devices configured for the FASTPTCP process
(using the Spoolcom DEV command). If the error persists, contact your service
provider as described in
Troubleshooting and Reporting Problems
on page 8-1.
