Configuring a FASTCNFG File
The I/O process used to connect the LAN is named $LINE.
FASTCNFG Attribute
The FASTCNFG attribute is used with the SPOOLER and PROCESS keywords to
redirect a print process to another subordinate FASTCNFG file. The FASTCNFG
attribute should not be used with the DEVICE keyword.
The syntax for the FASTCNFG attribute is
where
[\
node
.][$
volume
.][
subvolume
.]
filename
specifies the Guardian file name of the subordinate FASTCNFG file. If the file
name is not fully qualified, the default node name, volume, and subvolume of the
print process reading the file are substituted.
Once a FASTP network print process is redirected to a subordinate FASTCNFG file, it
does not return to the original file.
Up to three levels of FASTCNFG files are allowed as follows:
The primary FASTCNFG file, $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.FASTCNFG (or the file specified
with the TACL DEFINE commands), is the level-1 file. In a level-1 FASTCNFG file
you can:
Redirect all FASTP network print processes in a Spooler subsystem to a
subordinate FASTCNFG file (this FASTCNFG file would be a level-2 file):
SPOOLER [\
node
.]$
supervisor-name
FASTCNFG = [\
node
.][$
volume
.][
subvolume
.]
filename
Specify device attributes for specific devices:
DEVICE [\
node
.]$
device-name
[.#
qualifier
]
attribute
=
attribute-value
[,
attribute
=
attribute-value
]...
FASTP network print processes can be redirected from the primary FASTCNFG file
to another FASTCNFG file. The subordinate FASTCNFG file is a level-2 file. In a
level-2 FASTCNFG file you can:
Redirect a specific FASTP network print process to a subordinate FASTCNFG
file (this FASTCNFG file would be a level-3 file):
PROCESS $
process-name
FASTCNFG = [\
node
.][$
volume
.][
subvolume
.]
filename
Specify device attributes for specific devices:
DEVICE [\
node
.]$
device-name
[.#
qualifier
]

=
attribute-value
[,

]...
FASTCNFG = [\
