6C1-10 MODEL 295 TBI UNIT
Lubrication Requirements
Certain parts housed in the throttle body assembly
that interface with the governor throttle drive assembly
require special synthetic grease. The parts that require
lubrication are shown as “A” in figure 10. Use a srriall
vial of special synthetic grease from service repair kit,
following package directions, or use Mobil #28 synthetic
grease (or equivalent), to lubricate, these parts.
Install or Connect (Figures 2 and 3)
1. Lever washer.
2. Governor spring.
3. Lever and bearing assembly.
4. Assemble stud washer to new stud from service
package.

5. Stud and stud washer.
Tighten
• Stud and stud washer to J 6 N-m (12 ft, lbs.).
6. Wind governor spring and hook to lever and bear
ing assembly.
7. Throttle to motor link.
• Install link with circled “A” stamping on surface
. facing outward.

Install or Connect (Figures 8 and 9)
1. Move throttle lever cam clockwise until cable barrel
reaches the 11 o’clock position and hold (figure 9).
2. Align motor lever with governor throttle drive
assembly casting so the motor lever will clear, the
. assembly when the drive motor is installed.
•'Position straight end of motor lever spring on
,
cutout area of plate, and position motor drive
lever against shock absorber support (figure 8).

3. Four; drive motor attaching screw assemblies coat
ed Iwjth Loctite #262 or equivalent.
Tighten
• Attaching screw assemblies to 3 N-m (28 in.

4. Rewind 'motor lever spring and hook to engage
motor drive lever as shown in figure 8.

Inspect
• Check for free rotation of motor drive lever under
spring load. After checking rotation, spring should
return lever to park position (against shock absorb
er) as shown in figure 8.
5. Governor throttle drive assembly.
8. Lock ring retainers.
