Inspect

Pressure plate (19).
Pump ring (18).

Pump Vanes (17).
Pump rotor (16).
Thrust plate (15) for heavy or unusual wear,

or scoring.
Drive  shaft (1)  and  splines.
Ball  bearing (4).
N eedle  bearing  (7)  for  scoring,  pitting,

or ch atter m arks.

If n oted , rep lace

appropriate parts.

Lubricate all seals with power steering fluid.

Bearing assembly (7) to housing assembly (9) using

tool J 24652.

Seal (6) to housing assembly (9) using tool J 7728.

Two O-ring seals (13) to housing (9).

Ring (internal) (3), shaft (1), key (2), bearing

assembly (4), and ring (external) (5) as an assembly

to housing (9).

Two dowel pins (14) to housing (9);

T hrust p late (1 5 ) and rotor (1 6 ) to shaft

assembly (1).

Counterbore o f thrust plate (15) and rotor

(16) must face drive shaft end o f housing (9).

Pump vanes (17) to rotor (16).
