Remove or Disconnect
1.
Pump assembly from vehicle if necessary for access.
•
Reservoir cap assembly (25) from reservoir
assembly (23).
Drain oil from reservoir (23).
2.
Connector and fitting assembly (28) with O-ring
seal (27) from reservoir (23) and pump housing (9).
O-ring seal (27) from fitting (28).
3.
Control valve assembly (12) from housing (9). Make
sure flow control spring (11) does not fall out o f
housing.

Install or Connect

Spring (11) if removed and control valve assembly
(12) to housing (9).

2.
Lubricate new O -ring seal (2 7 ) with pow er
steering fluid.
•
S eal (2 7 ) to co n n ecto r and fittin g
assembly (28).
•
Fitting (28) to reservoir (23) and housing (9).
^ Tighten
•
Fitting (28) to 55 N*m (40 lb. ft.)
3.
Perform step 3 o f Drive Shaft, Drive Shaft Seal,
Ball Bearing Assembly Install or Connect.

1.
Perform steps 1 thru 3 Fitting Assembly, Control
Valve Remove or Disconnect.
2.
Two studs or bolt (26) and reservoir (23) from
housing (9).
•
Two O-ring seals (24) from two, studs Or
bolts (26).
3.
Reservoir (23) from housing (9).
•
O-ring seals (8) and (10) from housing (9)J
•
Magnet (29) from housing (9).

NOTICE:
D o not remove welch plug. If deformed of
dislodged, replace pump housing assembly (9).
Clean
•
AH parts in power steering fluid.
•
Dry parts.

Install or Connect
Magnet (29) to pump housing assembly (9).
Lubricate new O-ring seals (8) and (10) with power
steering fluid.
| • ; Seals (8) and (10) to housing (9).
Reservoir assembly (23) to housing (9).
Lubricate two new Oaring seals (24) with power
steering fluid.
•
Two seals (24) to two studs or bolts (26).

Two studs or bolts (26) and reservoir (23) to
; ’. ! housi ng(9).
^ Tighten
Stiids or bolts (26) to 48 N«m (35 lb. ft.).
5.
Perform steps 1 through 3 o f Fitting Assembly,
(Control Valve Install or Connect.

End plate retaining ring (22) from pump housing
assembly (9) using punch and screwdriver.
End plate (21) and pressure plate spring (20) from
housing (9).
Pressure plate (19) from housing (9).
Piimp ring (18) from housing (9).
Pump rotor (16) from housing (9).
Pump vanes (17) from rotor (16).
Thrust plate (15).
Two dowel pins (14). .
Two O-ring Seals (13) from housing (9).
Retaining ring (internal) (3), drive shaft (1),
woodruff key (2), ball bearing assembly (4), and
retaining ring (external) (5) as an assembly from
plunip housing assembly (9).
Drive shaft seal (6) from housing (9).
Needle bearing assembly (7) from housing (9) using
tool J 24652.
Clean
All parts in power steering fluid.
Dry parts.
