5H-14 AIR BRAKE VALVES
QUICK RELEASE VALVE
BENDIX QR-N
Remove or Disconnect (Figure 19)
1. Bolts (6) and lower body (7).
2. Seal (5).
3. Diaphragm follower (3).
4. Diaphragm (2).
Clean
• Body parts in mineral spirits or another suitable
solvent.
Inspect
• Diaphragm seat for corrosion and burrs.
|-n-| Install or Connect (Figure 19)
1. Lubricate seal with Delco Silicone Lube (GM P/N
18010909 or equivalent).
2. Diaphragm (2).
3. Diaphragm follower (3).
4. Seal (5).
5. Lower body (7).
NOTICE: See “ N otice” on page 5H-1.
6. Bolts (6).
RELAY VALVES

Remove or Disconnect (Figure 20)
1. Mark the location of the cover to the body.
2. Cap nut (13).
3. Seal (14).
4. Diaphragm (15).
5; Four bolts (12) and washers (11).
6. Cover (10).
7. Piston (8).
8. O-ring (9).
9. Snap ring (1).
10. Exhaust valve body (2).
11. Seal (3).
12. Spring (4).
13. Modulation tube (6).
14. Seal retainer (5). •
• All components in mineral spirits or another suit­
able solvent.
Inspect
• The valve seats for nicks and burrs. Repair or
replace as needed.
• The>; spring for cracks and corrosion. Replace as
needed.

1. Lubricate all seals and sliding surfaces with Delco
Silipone Lube (GM P/N 18010909 or equivalent).
2. Aligh bracket, cover, and body marks.
3. Seal retainer (5) on modulation tube (6).
4. Modulation tube (6).
5. Spring (4).
6. Seal (3) on exhaust valve body (2).
7. Exhaust valve body (2).
8. Snap ring (1).
