• Place the rotor in 'a Vise and tighten the vise
only enough to permit the tightening of the
pulley nut.

Q Tighten
• Nut to 100 N.m (75 ft. lbs.).
— Remove the assembly from the vise.
9. Rectifier bridge and capacitor to the slip ring end
frame with two ground screws (11) and one insulat
ed screw (12) (figure 7).
Tighten
• Ground screws to 3.0 N-m (25 in. lbs.).
• Insulated screw to 2.5 N.m (22 in. lbs.). '
10. “BAT” terminal from the outside of the frame.
11. Nut (8) to “BAT” stud.
Tighten
• Nut to 5.5 N-m (50 in. lbs.).
12. Relay terminal from the outside of the slip ring end
frame.

13. Insulated, washer and attaching strap (45) train the
rectifier bridge to the relay terminal with the copper
nut (60) (figure 14).
Tighten
• Nut (60) to 2.5 N-m (22 in. lbs.).
14- Brushes into the brush holder assembly and use a
retainer such as a toothpick to retain them (figure
;

•The.longer end of the retainer should extend
through the end frame for removal after: the
rotor and and the drive end frame are installed.

15. Regulator, brush: holder assembly, and diode trio to
the end frame with a ground screw and insulated
screws (figure 6).
16. Nut to the stud on the regulator. !
Q Tighten
• Nut to 2.5 N-m (22 in. lbs.).
17. Stator (13) to the slip ring end frame and the three
rectifier bridge terminals. .
18. Three terminal nuts securing the stator leads and
the diode trio leads to the rectifier bridge. '

• Nuts to 2.5 N-m (22 in. lbs.). >
19. Drive end frame and rOfo'r assembly to the slip ring
20. Four through bolts.

Tighten
• Through bolts to 5.5 N-m (50 in. lbs.).
A. Remove the brush retainer from the end frame.
B. Test the generator output as instructed in “Gen
erator Output Test” earlier in this section.
