Checkout Procedures

Pulse Oximetry Tests for Masimo SET SPO2

1. Connect the Masimo-style SPO2 simulator cable between the SPO2

connector of the monitor and the SPO2 simulator.

NOTE

Do not connect the simulator to an AC power supply for these tests.
Operate the simulator on battery power.

2. Set the simulator as follows:

a. Turn the monitor on and the simulator power

b. Set the simulator to be compatible with Masimo SET SPO2. For

specific set up options, see the documentation provided with the
patient simulator.

c. Set the SPO2 % to

d. Set the PRR to

beats/minute.

3. Verify the following are displayed at the monitor: (It might be

necessary to turn the SPO2 parameter on.)

A waveform with an SpO

label.

An SPO2 % reading between

78 - 84

A PRR reading between

and

beats per minute.

4. Create an alarm condition by setting the SPO2 low limit to

5. Make sure the SPO2 % value on the monitor flashes, and it sounds

an alarm.

6. Return the low limit to the original value.

7. Disconnect the simulator cable from the module.
