Faulty Step Response Result
Action Cause
Air in pumps: Make sure to prime the buffer inlets and to purge the
System pumps before method start. See Section 5.4.1 System pumps,
on page 162. If all values are faulty:
• Air in the pump or a faulty
pump
Faulty pump: See Chapter 7 Maintenance, on page 252.
Replace piston seals. See Chapter 7 Maintenance, on page 252. Faulty values at 5%:
• Damaged pump piston
seal in System pump B
Replace piston seals. See Chapter 7 Maintenance, on page 252. Faulty values at 95%:

Faulty UV Absorbance Test
Action Cause
Make sure that the acetone solution is 1% and that no solution has

Make sure the NaCl solution is 1.00 M. Incorrectly prepared NaCl

If the test is performed at cold room temperature, open the System
Settings dialog, select Conductivity:Cond temp compensation and
set the Compensation factor to 2.1 The value set for the Cond
temp compensation factor is
