Error/Status Messages
In the event that a printer error occurs, the Elite 21 printer will display an error message on its LCD
display. The display may also show other status or warning messages alerting you as to the status of
the printer. This section covers the list of potential LCD error or status messages and describes their
meaning in more detail.

Description
The duplex unit has been removed after power on. Restart printer.
The upper bin is not installed and has been selected. Install upper bin,
or send job to standard bin.
The face-up bin is open while the upper bin is selected. Close face-up
bin, or send job to standard bin.
The envelope feeder is not installed and has been selected. Install
envelope feeder, or choose another paper source.
The fusing unit is operating outside its normal temperature range.
Restart printer, contact service if error persists.
The ROS (laser) unit of the printer is experiencing an error. Restart
printer, contact service if error persists.
The main motor of the printer is experiencing an error. Restart
printer, contact service if error persists.
The fan motor of the printer is experiencing an error. Restart printer,
contact service if error persists.
The NVRAM (non-volatile memory) of the printer is experiencing an
error. Restart printer, contact service if error persists.
Paper has jammed while feeding. See “Paper Jams,” next section.
Paper has jammed in the paper path of the printer. See “Paper Jams,”
next section.
