Printing Edge-to-Edge
Important Note: Edge-to-Edge Printing
Printing to the edge of the page may cause excess toner to be deposited on rollers or
other internal parts within the printer’s paper path. This toner may then cause
undesired lines or marks on subsequent pages. Use of edge-to-edge printing is
therefore only recommended by those users who specifically require this feature, and
is done at the user’s own risk.
Enabling Edge-to-Edge Printing
The printer ships with edge-to-edge printing disabled, resulting in an unprintable area
of approximately 0.085” from each edge of the page. In order to print to the edge of
the page, edge-to-edge printing must be enabled, as follows:
• Make sure the printer’s display is reading “Ready”.
• Press either Menu key until “Printing” appears.
• Press either Item key until “Edge-to-edge” appears.
• Press either Value key until “Enabled” appears.
• Press Select to accept the change.
• Restart the printer to enable the new setting.
Once Edge-to-Edge is enabled on the printer, new software needs to be installed on
the computer(s) which use the printer in order to make use of the expanded printable
area of the paper sizes. Installation of the Edge-to-Edge software is outlined in the
next section.
Note: At this time, edge-to-edge software is only available for Macintosh users.
