8.5.1.4 Cleaning of Transport Input Sensors
Clean the input sensors (inductive) with
suitable cleaners and check the working of
the sensor.
8.5.1.5 Cleaning the Chains, Dismantling Them
Dismantle the covers at the chain wheels.
Open the chain by pressing out a pin. (Use
a chain tool, not a punch)
Pull out the chain.
Thoroughly clean the chain and guide rails
with cleaning medium
(if required petroleum).
Push the chain back in the guide rail and re-rivet it. The easy movement at the riveting
point must be ensured. Re-lubricate with sliding spray (item. no. 8300).
Check whether the chains run free of jerks; if required correct the chain tension.
8.5.1.6 Assembling the Chains
Mount the rail pieces at the exit of the machine
Remove the deflector roller covers at the entrance and exit to the machine. Push a draw-
ing-in cord through the transport rail section, until it appears at the other end. Tie up one of
the transport chains firmly and pull it through the section until it projects about 150 mm from
the inner opening.
Guide this end of the chain around the deflection pulley into the upper guide and pull the
chain with a screwdriver through the transport track back to the beginning. Guide the end
around the deflection pulley to the other end of the chain and close the chain with the chain
tool.
Loosen the drive unit (motor) and push the drive unit to the top. Tighten the screws firmly.
Guide both the chains around the chain wheels of the drive and pull the motor downwards.
The chain should have a play of 10 mm.
Verify that the chains are running correctly with the rails. The chain links must coincide and
run parallel. The chain links can be aligned by slightly moving the drive unit.
Place a carrier correctly in the machine, lift it at the rear and allow it to slowly slide into the
chains. Ensure that the carrier drops between the chains without any resistance. Please
note the distance of about 2-3 mm at the side between the carrier and the rail. Both the
teeth of the carrier must mesh between the chain links without any resistance. Tighten the
drive unit with 20 Nm.
