3.1 System
Description
The automatic wave soldering machine epm CIG compact is a compact inert gas automatic
soldering machine that has proven itself for many years.
With the epm CIG compact, the process safety is guaranteed and the requirements accord-
ing to ISO 9000 are fulfilled.
The main components of the epm double-wave automatic soldering machine are from left
to right

Soldering chamber

Outlet

Controller
By means of the optional inlet and outlet modules (epm-transport and converter modules),
the automatic soldering machine can be made into an individually configured, complete
production plant.
Mechanically, the automatic soldering machine consists of an ergonomically designed
body. The metal plate covers on the inlet and outlet can be removed for servicing purposes
without any tools.
All the housing parts are powder-coated with resistant paint (color light gray, RAL 9002).
The conveyor rails are anodized. The soldering chamber and all the covers, even those in
the zone of the soldering station, are of special steel.
The large panes allow an overview of the entire processing path. All the sections are easily
accessible for cleaning and maintenance. The entire soldering machine is closed on all
sides, except for the inlet and outlet openings. The machines are prepared, both in terms of
the controller as well as from a mechanical standpoint, for connection at the customer site.
This type series includes double-wave automatic soldering machines for soldering carrier or
finger transport, fitted with atomizer fluxers for soldering SMT and/or THT components.
