Disassembly
Assembly
1. Heat the gear and flange assembly to 80¡C to
deactiveate the Loctite. Using a suitable press or
puller, remove the flange from the gear.
Note:
This also applies to the 6th gear flange on
the input shaft.
1. Using a suitable solvent ensure that both parts
are clean and free from oil.
2. Apply a thin bead of Loctite 648 to the spine
teeth of the gear. Press on the synchroniser flange
ensure the flange is fully home. Wipe off any
excess.
3. Allow the parts to cure for a minimum of two
hours.
Note:
If the flange does not seat squarely, the pro-
cedure should be repeated.
