Determination of the maximum angle speed of the part support
1. Go to the machine parameters for digital part support.
2. Select ‘Adjustment mode = 5’ (on the second page) to ensure that the part support maximum
angle speed will be displayed in the ‘Zoomed Values’ menu.
3. Go to manual mode, select a die with a V-opening between 5 and 7 mm and select the
maximum possible press speed for this specific machine.
4. Enter such an angle for bending, that the part support will go to 90% of its maximum angle.
This bend angle can be calculated as follows:
α
bend
= 2
•
(90
°
- 0.9
•
α
max
)
in which
α
max
is the maximum angle of the part support).
Example:
If the maximum part support angle for your machine is 60
°
, then the angle that
must be used for bending would be 72
°
.
5. Enable the part support by setting ‘Part Support’ to 1.
6. Set the part support correction ‘G-corr.’ to 0.0.
7. For the other values for bending, scroll through the list by pressing <enter>. Go to ‘Zoomed
Values’ menu, perform a bend and check for the maximum angle speed (displayed at ‘PS
=..’), rounded at 1
°
/s (no decimals).
8. At the part support machine parameters, increase ‘Proportional Gain Max.’ by 1. Go back to
Manual mode, open the ‘Zoomed Values’ menu, perform a bend and check for the maximum
angle speed, again rounded at 1
°
/s.
9. Repeat the last step until the maximum angle speed does not increase anymore.
10.Note the reached value (rounded at 1), this is the maximum angle speed of the part support.
11.Go to the part support machine parameters and fill in the maximum angle speed.
•
Adjustment procedure of control gains
For all adjustments, choose the following settings in Manual menu:
1. Select a die with V-opening between 5 and 7 mm.
2. Select such an angle, that the part support will go to 90% of its maximum angle, as already
used in the previous paragraph.
3. Select a bending dwell-time (‘d-time’) of at least 2 seconds.
If gain values are set too high, the part support arm does not run smoothly anymore, but starts
oscillating. This is not acceptable. Adjust gain values for optimal performance, without
oscillating.
•
Adjustment of Proportional gain max
To adjust ‘Proportional Gain Max.’ perform the following steps:
1. Go to the digital part support machine parameters.
2. Select ‘Proportional Gain Max = 1’.
3. Set ‘Adjustment Mode’ to 6 for displaying the reference mean angle speed [°/s].
