Therefore you must program Z1min value and Z2min value with respect to this distance.
Example: if the mechanical distance between the fingers is 25mm and Z1min = 100. Then you
have to program Z2min to 125. Furtheron the control will take care that this distance is always
respected.
When you press the start button and ‘Z2min - Z1min is smaller than the mechanical distance
between Z1 and Z2', the message ‘Z1 - Z2 axis conflict’ appears on the screen. Start is not
accepted in this case.
In the automatic mode and manual mode the programmed values for Z1 and Z2 are checked to
prevent collision between the Z1- and Z2-axis.

For calculation of the Z-axis positions, the following operator parameters are relevant:
•
Product length. This is a product parameter.
•
Z-distance. This parameter can be found in the program constants menu and defines the
distance of the end of the sheet to the middle of he Z-finger.
•
Z-position. This is a punch parameter to program an offset for the punch position, related
to the middle of the machine. As such, this parameter can be positive or negative.
Default the Z1- and Z2-axis values are computed positioning the middle of the sheet in the
middle of the machine. The next fomulas are used:
•
Z1 = 0,5 (Z2max - Z1min) + Z1min - 0,5L + Z-di Z-position
•
Z2 = 0,5 (Z2max - Z1min) + Z1min + 0,5L - Z-di Z-position
When you want to use another machine position then you can program the Z1-axis value. The
corresponding Z2-axis value will be computed when you place the cursor at the Z2-axis
parameter in the data preparation or data editing menu. In this case the following formula is
used:
•
Z2 = Z1 + L - 2x Z-distance
