Zm: a third Z-axis
For long, narrow sheets it can be useful to have a 3rd Z-axis (Zm) to support the sheet in the
middle. By adding Zm to the configuration, the sheet will be perpendicular to the press beam
when the operator pushes the sheet against the back gauge (see figure).

The position of Zm is automatically calculated to be in the middle between Z1 and Z2. The
minimum distance between the axes is guarded and the post processing also includes Zm. For
the moment Zm is not supported in 3D graphical mode.
4.5 A second X-axis
A second X-axis is called an X2-axis. When you have enabled an X2-axis then the programmed
value of the X-axis (or X1-axis, this is programmable with machine parameter X/X1 select) is
automatically copied to the X2-axis. In data editing the X-axis value is prompted when you are
with the cursor on the X2-axis.
Also the programmed values for X-opening (retraction) and X-code will also be active for the
X2-axis. In automatic mode and Step-by-step mode you can program corrections for the X-axis
as well as for the X2-axis.
When a second X-axis is implemented, several X2-specific parameters should be programmed.
These parameters are used to describe the backgauge construction that is installed and will be
described in this section.
