Inspect Inlet Transfer Rodless Air
Cylinder
CAUTION
The following procedure is
critical to the performance
and service life of the upper
transfer rodless air cylinder.
Perform these checks weekly
without fail!
To ensure proper performance and to extend
service life, the following weekly checks must
be performed on the upper transfer rodless air
cylinder:
Drive T
Drive Blocks
Carriage Block
Air Cushion
Required Tools

Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
Turn OFF the compressed air supply to
the unit.

Make sure the compressed air system is
depressurized.
Raise the front access guard and secure in
position using the provided bracket arms
(Figure 4-6).
NOTE: The carriage assembly
is shown with the upper transfer
clamp bracket removed for
clarity.
Grasp the base of the drive T (Figure 4-7,
A) and check to see whether there is any
looseness.
If any looseness is felt, the drive T must
be tightened before moving on to the next
step. Refer to the Repair section, Tighten
the Drive T procedure.
NOTE: If it was necessary
to tighten the drive T, it will be
necessary to adjust the drive
blocks. Skip the next two steps
and perform the Tighten the
Drive Blocks procedure in the
Repair section and then go to
Step 9.
