Finger Assist Air Pressure
Adjustment
Two “fingers” are used to assist with the
quality of the flatwork laydown by briefly holding
the edges in position just prior to the air blast
(Figure 7-88).
These fingers are designed to pinch the flatwork
against the top edge of the air foil. However, if the
air pressure is set too high, the brackets holding
the fingers can bend, causing the fingers to shoot
high and not perform their function.
Required Tools
small slotted screwdriver
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Turn Power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
Turn ON the compressed air supply to
the unit.
Locate the right pneumatic panel (Figure
7-89, A) just to the right of the center of
the machine.
On the bottom of this unit is the main
solenoid valve. Locate the override screw
on this valve (Figure 7-90).
Use a small screwdriver. Push the screw
in and turn it 1/4 turn clockwise to lock
it down. This lets compressed air into the
system, allowing adjustment with air pres-
sure in the system.
