Prefeeder Carriage Eccentric
Grooved Bearing Adjustment
If a prefeeder carriage becomes loose on its
carriage rail, tension on the eccentric grooved
bearings (Figure 7-1, A) must be adjusted.
Note that all four grooved bearings on the
assembly are actually identical. The eccentric
bearings are identified as such because the bolts
which secure the pair are eccentric, while the bolts
which secure the other pair are straight.
When tension on the eccentric bearings can
no longer be properly adjusted, it indicates a
bearing pair as worn and need replacement as
covered in the Prefeeder Carriage Grooved
Bearing Replacement procedure which follows
this one.
Required Tools
5 mm, 13 mm wrenches (supplied)
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
Retrieve the two adjustment wrenches
from the small cloth bag in the right
endframe.
Raise the front access guard and secure in
position using the provided bracket arms
(Figure 7-2).
