Locate the two adjustment bolts on the
rear of the bearing.
Loosen the jam nut (Figure 7-3, A).
CAUTION
ONLY increase the tension
to eliminate play on the
carriage. Too much tension
will overload the motor and
increase wear on the bearing.
Adjust the bolt clockwise (Figure 7-3, B)
just enough to take up any excess free play
in the bearing.
Tighten the jam nut to secure the adjust-
ment.
Repeat Steps 4 to 6 for the second jam
nut.
Lower the front access guard back into
position. Make sure it is secure.
Start the unit and feed several pieces to
check and verify the adjustment.
Readjust as necessary.
Replace the adjustment wrenches in their
cloth bag in the right endframe.

Replacement
These bearings often wear down in pairs, either
both regular or both eccentric. Even if only one
grooved bearing shows signs of excessive wear,
replacement still should be done in pairs.
NOTE: This procedure is best
performed by two workers. The
“buddy system” is the safest
system.
Required Tools
5 mm, 13 mm wrenches (supplied)
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
Retrieve the two adjustment wrenches
from the small cloth bag in the right
endframe.
Raise the front access guard and secure in
position using the provided bracket arms
(Figure 7-2).
If replacing the non-eccentric bearings
(Figure 7-1, B), release tension on the ec-
centric bearings.
Remove the bolts which secure the two
non-eccentric bearings. Keep track of the
bolts and the flat washer which sits under
each bearing.
If replacing the eccentric bearings, remove
them from their mounting block.
