Air Intake Assembly
(CFR/Crossfire/M-Series)
REMOVING
1. Remove the connector clamp securing the intake
connector (hose) to the hood screen (right-side).

2. With the hood closed, loosen the headlight adjust-
ment knobs.
3. Carefully push the headlight lenses rearward far
enough to remove the torx-head screws securing the
air silencer plenum to the hood.
4. Open the hood; then remove the O-rings securing the
air silencer plenums to the hood and remove the air
silencer plenums.
INSTALLING
1. Press the air silencer plenums into place on the hood
and secure with the O-rings; then close the hood.
2. Carefully push the headlight lenses rearward far
enough to install the torx-head screws. Tighten the
screws securely.
3. Tighten the headlight adjustment knobs.
4. Check headlight aim (see Adjusting Headlight Aim
in Section 8).
Air Silencer
(CFR/Crossfire/M-Series)
The air silencer is a specially designed component used
to silence the incoming fresh air and also to catch the fuel
that “spits back” out of the throttle body. The throttle
body is calibrated with the air silencer in position; there-
fore, the engine must never be run with the air silencer
removed.
REMOVING
1. Remove the cable tie securing the air intake connec-
tor to the lower air silencer and remove the connec-
tor.
2. Remove the three torx-head screws securing the
belly pan center screen and air intake hold-down tab.

3. Remove the screen and air silencer from the front
bumper.

INSTALLING
1. Place the air silencer into position making sure the
boot is properly seated to the throttle bodies and air
silencer.
2. Install the belly pan center screen; then secure the air
silencer and screen to the front bumper with the
hold-down tab and three torx-head screws.
3. Install the air intake connector and secure the con-
nector to the air silencer with new cable tie.
Air Silencer (Liquid-
Cooled F-Series 2-Stroke)
NOTE: A number of servicing procedures require
that the air silencer be removed and installed. Pay
close attention to the
NOTE: preceding a particular
servicing procedure that will direct the technician to
this section and sub-section for removing/installing
the air silencer.
REMOVING
1. Remove the hood and the left-side and right-side
access panels; then remove the torx-head screws
securing the console.
