surface of electrode where an oxide exists, an arc discharge is performed with the creeping-up,
and current and voltage are put are an unstable state.
When the welding current value is 15 A or less and the flow rate of argon gas is high, the
temperature of electrode is low and the ionization of argon gas surrounding the electrodes does
not proceed. Therefore, an arc discharge is performed with the creeping-up of an arc on the
side surface of electrode where an oxide exists. When an oxide on the electrode surface is
used for an arc discharge due to the creeping-up and removed from the surface of electrode,
LOST occurs. By adjusting the flow rate of argon gas less and taking in air surrounding the
electrodes as a measure against this, an oxide is produced at the electrode tip. Due to ions and
electrons of the oxide, an arc is generated and an arc discharge is put in a stable state.
