7.1 Turning the Hardware On and Off
■
Stopping the Marker
1
Select [Marker]-[Stop LD] or click the
icon.
During shutdown, the Ready indicator on the Control Unit flashes and a message indicating the
unit is cooling down is displayed on the marking screen. How long the indicator will flash varies
depending on the LD current. (It may flash for up to 300 seconds.)
After the LD has finished shutting down, the Ready indicator on the Control Unit goes off.
The "cooling-down" message is cleared from the marking screen, and the [Start LD] indicator turns
off.
2
On the Control Unit, turn off the Control keyswitch.
The LD is deactivated, and the [Key Switch] indicator on the marking screen turns off.
3
To bring the Control Unit offline, either select [Marker]-[Offline] or click the
icon.
4
On the Control Unit, turn off the Main Power switch.
The Control Unit power indicator turns off.
5
Turn off the leakage breaker at the back of the Control Unit.
Marker shutdown is now complete.
•
Do not turn off the Main Power switch while the Ready indicator on the Control Unit
is flashing or a message indicating "the unit is cooling down" is displayed on the
Marking screen. The useful life of the LD will be greatly shortened if you turn off the
Main Power switch during cooldown. Doing so may also result in the loss of data on
the memory card, preventing the unit from restarting.
•
Do not turn off the Main Power switch while the [Online] indicator is active on the
marking screen of LMDraw6. If you turn off the Main Power switch while the [Online]
indicator is active, memory card data may be lost and the unit may not be able to
start.
•
If a computer is connected, it will continue to access the Control Unit memory card
for about 15 seconds after it has gone offline. During this time, do not turn off the
Main Power switch.
•
If a computer is connected, never unplug the LAN cable until after going offline.
