Emergency Stop for Simple Systems
Interfacing with External Emergency Stop Circuitry
E-STOP button(s) ONLY
The laser marker can be interfaced to a simple system including an enclosure and one or more
external emergency stop buttons. In this situation the laser marker would not be connected to
any larger automation system or control any other equipment. The dual channel output relays
can be monitored to verify the status of the emergency stop circuit but no external equipment
other than that outlined above should be included.
*1 Pins 14 and 15, and Pins 16 and 17 are connected to a relay which is closed during normal
operation and open if the laser marker is in the E-Stop state. The relay can be only used to mon-
itor the E-stop state. This supports up to 6 A at 24 V DC.
The emergency stop circuit is designed to achieve the PL (Performance Level) “e” of
ISO13849-1 in simple systems only with the E-STOP button, but it complies with the
PL “e” only after the following E-STOP button is used in
the emergency stop input.
Recommended component: A165E-S-02 (manufactured by OMRON) or equivalent
