Remote
Remote causes an instrumen t to c hange from lo cal con trol to
remote con trol. In remote con trol, the fron t panel k eys are disabled
(except for the 4
LOCAL
5 k ey and the PO WER switch), and the amb er
REMOTE ann unciator is lighted. The syn tax is:
where the device selector is the address of the instrumen t app ended
to the GPIB p ort n um b er. T ypically , the GPIB p ort n um b er is 7,
and the default address for the sw ept signal generator is 19, so the
device selector is 719. Some BASIC examples:

whic h prepares all GPIB instrumen ts for remote op eration (although
nothing app ears to happ en to the instrumen ts un til they are
addressed to talk), or

whic h aects the GPIB instrumen t lo cated at address 19, or

whic h eects four instrumen ts that ha v e addresses 19, 21, 26, and 15.
