Registering Devices
for Warranty
You can register the 3Com devices on your network for any applicable
warranty. 3Com Network Director checks for devices on your network
that have not yet been registered and sends this information to 3Com.

Registering devices enables the device warranty for all the supported
3Com equipment and enables 3Com services such as technical assistance,
hardware repair and hardware replacement.

The following sections describe how to administer devices using 3Com
Network Director.
Device Warranty
Dialog Box
When a discovery operation completes and 3Com Network Director finds
that there are unregistered devices, you are given the option to register
devices as shown in
Figure 247
:

If you do not want to see this dialog box after each discovery, de-select
the
Show the Device Warranty dialog box after a network discovery
check
box. You can also de-select the
Show the Device Warranty dialog box
after a discovery operation
check box in the
General
panel of the
Options
dialog box as shown in
Figure 248
.
