Behavior of the PROFIsafe I/O module in the event of a failure

If an error is detected on a digital input or digital power output by the PROFIsafe
I/O module, the entire PROFIsafe I/O module is passivated by the process image
of all digital inputs being set to "0" and all digital power outputs being switched
off.
For detailed information, read the section "Diagnostics".

Use the same value for the output tolerance time of output O1 and O2!

If the

Output Configuration

parameter is set to "H-Side/L-Side 1" or "H-Side/H-

Side 1", the values of the

Output tolerance time

parameter for both outputs O1

and O2 must be set to the same value. This is checked by the PROFIsafe I/O
module during the parameterization procedure and a suggested correction is
indicated by the PROFIsafe I/O module in the WAGO parameterization tool in
case of deviation.

Use the same value for the test pulse duration of output O1 and O2!

If the

Output Configuration

parameter is set to "H-Side/L-Side 1", the values of

the

Test pulse duration

for both outputs O1 and O2 must be set to the same

value. This is checked by the PROFIsafe I/O module during the parameterization
procedure and a suggested correction is indicated by the PROFIsafe I/O module in
the WAGO parameterization tool in case of deviation.

The value of the output tolerance time must not be less that the value of the
test pulse duration!

The value of the

Output tolerance time

parameter may not be less than the value

of the

Test pulse duration

parameter. This is checked by the PROFIsafe I/O

module during the parameterization procedure and a suggested correction is
indicated by the PROFIsafe I/O module in the WAGO parameterization tool in
case of deviation.
