6.3.3.10  Switching Electronic (Capacitive) Loads 

You can switch electronic loads (e.g., electronically controlled door locking 
device, interference-free I/O modues, etc.) using the PROFIsafe I/O module. 

 

 

 

High making currents when switching capacitive loads 

When switching electronic load with capacitive character, high making currents 
can arise when switching. Please note that the maximum capacity specified in the 
technicial data is not exceeded.  
The high making currents can lead to passivation of the PROFIsafe I/O modules. 
Read section Power Supply Requirements.
