6.3.3.5.2 Using Output Configuration H-Side/H-Side 1
Short circuit proof line installation to the 24V field supply voltage!
The short circuit between a digital power output of the PROFIsafe I/O module
and the supply point of the 24V field supply voltage for the interference-free I/O
module is identified by the PROFIsafe I/O module, but does not lead to a safe
shutdown of the 24V field supply voltage.
Therefore, you must install the lines for the supply point protected according to
EN 60204-1 or EN ISO 13849-2 (e.g., as separate sheathed lines or in separate
cable ducts).
Important information about achievable risk reduction!
Please note that diagnostic measures such as positively-driven relay contacts must
be read back via safe digital inputs depending on the safety application. Risk
reductions up to SIL3/Cat.4/PL e can be achieved with this configuration.

You can set the value of the
Output Configuration
parameter to "H-Side/L-
Side 1" and the make the appropriate wiring to switch off the interference-free I/O
modules safely.
The PROFIsafe I/O module then switches both semiconductor switches ON or
OFF at the same time using the bit 0 of the output process image.
In the output configuration "H-Side/H-Side 1", the 24V potential of the 24V field
supply voltage is safety switched OFF for the subsequent interference-free I/O
modules.
