6.12.11.

Maximum Number of Channels, Parameters, and

Records

Because the instrument has finite storage capacity there are some limits on the

iDAS’ ability to store data. While there are no hard limits on how many channels

and parameters can be programmed into the iDAS, the maximum number of

records it can record is 999,999. Realistically, limitation on available memory space

will likely take effect long before the millionth record is reached.

The actual number of

data parameters

that may be stored depends on the available

storage space and the number of parameters being sampled by a channel.

A detailed method of calculating required memory space for iDAS channels is

described in the T-API APIcom Users Manual which can be downloaded from T-API’s

website at

http://

www.teledyne-api.com

When programming the iDAS from the users front panel, the

ENTR

key will

disappear when the maximum storage capacity of the analyzer is reached

preventing additional channels or parameters from being added.

6.12.12.

RS-232 Interface to the iDAS

This section describes the analyzer’s RS-232 interface can be used to communicate

with and manipulate the iDAS. For more information on how to do this please refer

to one of the following documents:
