NOTE:

To set the communication modes for a COM1 or COM2 over the instruments serial I/O

interface it is necessary to set the value of either RS232_MODE (COM1) or

RS232_MODE2 (COM2) to a value equal to the sum of the various mode ID’s

(See Table 6-18 above),

For example, to turn on the QUIET MODE (ID = 1); COMPUTER MODE (ID = 2); and the

HARDWARE HANDSHAKE MODE (ID= 8);

set the value of the appropriate variable to 11 (1 + 2 + 8).
