File Naming Conventions
This section describes how to properly name files, directories, animated images and folders.
File Names
All file and directory names can be up to 12 characters (not including the file extension). If the name
has over 12 characters, the file or directory will not appear on the switcher panel. The filename can
contain letters, numbers, and spaces. The characters
! @ # * ( ) / , (comma) ? ‘ (apostrophe) “
(quotation mark) cannot be used in the filename.
Animated Images
You must append an underscore (_) and a frame number to the filename before the .tga extension. The
frame number must meet the following criteria:
• Each frame number must have between two and five digits.
• Each frame number must have the same number of digits (i.e., you must use leading
zeros to pad the frame number length).
