5. Install the Aspectizer option as follows:
• Carefully align the Aspectizer Module over the sockets.
• Ensure that the Aspectizer Module’s connectors are facing down, and the Ross
Video logo and board identification face up.
• Use your fingers to “feel” for the proper pin-to-socket alignment.
• While applying downward pressure, slowly rock the module until the module is
fully seated. Avoid flexing the board — so as not to bend the pins.
• After installation, “sight” down the board at the connector level, to make sure that
there are no exposed pins. It is recommended that you rotate the board 360 degrees
to check all planes.
6. If you have an Issue 2 or early Issue 4 Frame Processor Board , you will need to
remove the standoff at
MP16
as it inhibits proper installation of the Dual Aspectizer
Board . Contact Ross Video Technical Support for details.
7. When complete, carefully replace the Synergy 1 Frame Processor Board into the
Synergy frame, and secure with the outer latches on the board edges.
This completes the installation for the Dual Aspectizer option. Next you will upgrade the software for
the Dual Aspectizer Board.
Upgrading the Dual Aspectizer
Use the following procedure to upgrade your Dual Aspectizer Board :
1. Ensure the Dual Aspectizer board is installed. Refer to the section “ Installing the Dual
Aspectizer Board ” on page 4–23 for details.
2. Power on the frame and the control panel – in any order desired. If your Aspectizer
contains a version of software prior to version 2.10, the following message will be
displayed in the
Main Menu 1-2 :

Caution Failure to reinstall a module with a precise 1:1 pin-to-socket
orientation will damage the Synergy 1 Frame Processor Board, the
selected module — or both! Double check your work!
Important
If you purchased a Dual Aspectizer Board containing a software
version prior to version 2.10, you will need to upgrade your board in
order to take advantage of our new “
Aspectizer looks”. Refer to the
section “ Installed Options Menus – Synergy 1 ” on page 6–2 for
verification of the version of your Aspectizer board.
