Synergy 1 Frame Motherboard
6. Disconnect the FAN POWER connector from the motherboard. Use needle nose pliers,
if necessary.
7. Remove the four corner screws that secure the fan to the motherboard and set them aside
for later re-installation.
8. Carefully remove the fan and cable harness from the Synergy frame.
9. Install the new fan in the frame, in the same orientation as the old fan (with the cable
harness on the left). Secure the fan with the four screws, which were previously
removed.
10. Carefully attach the new fan’s power connector to the connector block on the
motherboard.
11. If you were able to remove the frame’s top plate, you can now replace it, and insert and
tighten the screws.
12. Replace the power supply tray in the Synergy frame, and position and secure the lock
down plate.
13. Plug the AC power cord back into the AC outlet.
14. Power on the Synergy frame.
15. Verify that the ALL OK LED is lit.
This completes the procedure to change a failed Synergy 1 frame power supply.
Note If you are not able to remove the top plate, you will have to perform
this procedure through the housing for the power supply.
