Synergy 1 and Synergy 100 Maintenance Guide (v16-S1)
8. Replace and tighten the mounting screws to secure the board. Do not over tighten the
screws.
9. When complete, carefully replace the
Synergy 1 Frame Board
into the frame, and
secure with the outer latches on the board edges.
This completes the procedure to remove or install the optional
Squeeze & Tease 3D/WARP Board
.
Installing the 3D Fan Assembly
This fan provides adequate ventilation for the card and prevents damage caused by high ambient
temperatures. It is recommended that you replace the fan every 5 years. If you need a replacement fan,
please contact Ross Video Technical Support. This procedure should take approximately ten minutes
to complete.
Tools Required
Only the cooling fan assembly and a Phillips screwdriver are required.
Caution
Failure to install the
Squeeze & Tease 3D/WARP
Board
with a
precise 1:1 header-to-socket orientation (with the exception of the
J3
to
J22
connectors) will damage the
Synergy 1 Frame Board
, the
selected module — or both! Double-check your work!
Caution
In order to provide adequate ventilation for the
Squeeze & Tease
3D/WARP
board, the following instructions
must
be followed.
For all systems with a
Squeeze & Tease 3D/WARP
option installed,
the ambient temperature maximum is 40° Celsius.
The fan inlet filter must be kept clean and free of obstructions.
If you are using a Synergy 1 switcher, the top and front panel covers
must be in place when operating with the
Squeeze & Tease 3D/WARP
option installed.
Important
The Fan used for WARP cards is the same as the fan used for 3D cards,
therefore these instructions are used in both situations.
Caution
Static discharge
can cause serious damage to sensitive semiconductor
devices. Avoid handling the switcher circuit boards in high static
environments such as carpeted areas and when synthetic fiber clothing
is worn. Use of a grounding strap is strongly recommended. Touch the
frame to dissipate static charge before removing boards from the frame
and exercise proper grounding precautions when working on circuit
boards.
