Synergy 1 and Synergy 100 Maintenance Guide (v16-S1)
Option Boards • 4–11
4. To remove an existing
Squeeze & Tease 3D/WARP Board
:
•
Locate the
Squeeze & Tease 3D/WARP Board
.
•
Loosen and remove the mounting screws from the holes and set them aside in a safe
place.
•
While applying upward pressure, slowly rock each connector out of its socket,
being careful to avoid flexing the board too much — so as not to bend the pins.
•
Set the board aside on a clean, flat, static free surface.
5. Unpack the
Squeeze & Tease 3D/WARP
kit, consisting of one
Squeeze & Tease 3D /
WARP Board
(4000A-148).
6. If protective plastic shrouds are installed over the target connectors on the
Frame
Processor Board
, remove and store them.
7. Install the
Squeeze & Tease 3D / WARP Board
as follows:
•
Locate the three sockets labeled “
Squeeze & Tease Conn
”
on the
Synergy 1
Frame Board
, near the middle, front of the board. The sockets are labeled
J20
,
J22
, and
J23
.
~
The three
Synergy 1 Frame Board
sockets will mate with the three headers on
the
S&T 3D / WARP
board.
~
The
Squeeze & Tease 3D / WARP Board
headers are labeled
J1
,
J2
, and
J3
.
Use the figure “
” on page 4–9 for
reference.
~
The header-to-socket mating pattern is
J1
→
J20
,
J2
→
J23
, and
J3
→
J22
.
•
Carefully align the
Squeeze & Tease 3D/WARP
Board
over the connectors.
•
Ensure that the
Squeeze & Tease 3D/WARP
major components of the board are
facing up. You will have the correct board orientation when you can read the
Ross
Video
logo
and
Squeeze & Tease 3D / WARP
silk screening identification on the top
of the board.
•
Use your fingers to “feel” for the proper header-to-socket alignment.
•
While applying downward pressure, slowly rock the module until the module is
fully seated. Avoid flexing the board — so as not to bend the pins.
Caution
When handling the
Squeeze & Tease 3D / WARP
Board
,
DO NOT
touch the heatsink, located in the middle of the board. Handle the
board by the edges. Handling of the heatsink may cause serious
damage to the heatsink and to the board.
Note that the heatsink will become
HOT
when the device is in
operation and should be avoided.
Note
The
J3
header
on the
Squeeze & Tease 3D/WARP Board
is a 50-pin
connector. It mates with a 36-pin socket (
J22
) on the
Synergy 1/100
Frame Board
. Once the board is fully seated, there will be seven (7)
pairs of pins on the
Squeeze & Tease 3D/WARP
Board
’s
J3
connector that are
not
mated. This is the correct configuration.
