7–6 • DVE Send Option Synergy 1 and Synergy 100 Maintenance Guide (v16-S1)
12. On the Synergy 1 control panel, ensure that you can key the DVE as a standard Auto
Select key.
13. Setup an effect as follows:
• On the DVE, program a multi-keyframe transition that has both the video and key
channels enabled.
• Store the effect in the numeric range of
1
to
40
on the DVE so that it can be
accessed from the switcher’s 40 “shot box” buttons in the Pattern Control Group .
14. Select foreground and background sources on the MLE, and press the
DVE SEND
button.
15. Select the DVE effect in one of two ways:
• In the Pattern Control Group , press the “shot box” button for the desired DVE
effect.
• Use the keypad of the Global Memory System Group to enter the effect number.
• Press
ENTER
.
16. Select
BKGD
in the Transition Group of the Synergy MLE.
17. Press
AUTO TRANS
on the Synergy control panel to initiate the transition.
18. Verify that the Synergy 1 switcher performs the following:
• Performs a match-frame cut to Keyer 3 (the internal DVE keyer);
• Cues the DVE to the starting keyframe of the effect; and
• Issues a “ Run Forward ” or “ Run Reverse ” command to the DVE as appropriate.
This completes the procedure to test the DVE Send Option . Refer to Chapter 9 “ DVE Send ” in the
Synergy 1 Operations Guide , for more detailed instructions on DVE Send operations.
