Removing or Installing the Dual Border Generator
Use the following procedure to remove or install the optional Dual (Floating) Border Generator :
1. Power down the Synergy frame.
2. Carefully remove the Frame Processor Board from the frame, and set it on a clean, flat,
static free surface.
3. To remove the Dual (Floating) Border Generator :
• Locate the Dual (Floating) Border Generator .
• Loosen and remove the mounting screws from the holes and set them aside in a safe
place.
• While applying upward pressure, slowly rock each connector out of its socket,
being careful to avoid flexing the board too much — so as not to bend the pins.
• Set the board aside on a clean, flat, static free surface.
4. To install the Dual (Floating) Border Generator :
• If protective plastic shrouds are installed over the target connectors on the Frame
Processor Board , remove and store them.
• If there are no standoffs installed in the Frame Processor Board , be sure to install
all four in the holes provided.
• Carefully align the Dual (Floating) Border Generator over the headers
(
BORDER GEN CONN
) on the Frame Processor Board . Use your fingers to
“feel” for the proper header-to-socket alignment. In addition, check that the
standoffs align with the mounting holes.
• Once aligned, push down on either side of each connector, until the board is fully
seated.
• Replace and tighten the mounting screws to secure the board. Do not over tighten
the screws.
• Double check the alignment of the Dual (Floating) Border Generator by sighting
down the connectors. No pins should be visible where the header meets the card.
This completes the procedure to remove or install the Dual (Floating) Border Generator .
