under the DHCP network can also be used. The use of fixed IP addresses is usually not required.
REA recommends either the fully automatic configuration by DHCP or ZeroConfig.
3.8.5 Data connection between the PC and REA ScanCheck 3n with an
Ethernet switch
If only a single network connection is available at the
workplace for the company network, then a network
switch must be interposed to be able to connect both
the PC and the REA ScanCheck 3n simultaneously
and in parallel with the computer network. The
connection
corresponds
with
the
connection
described under
"Connection via DHCP server in the
network",
or
"Connection with default IP address”
with switch. In addition, in this constellation, the
switch is connected to the network socket in the room
for the company network with another network cable.
There is no need for further hardware installation.
3.9 Setting the network addresses
The network address of the REA ScanCheck 3n is set to an automatic address assignment at the
factory. If the REA ScanCheck 3n is operated in a company network with a DHCP server, this
server will assign a network address (IP address) to the REA ScanCheck 3n. In some cases, the
MAC address must be entered in the server.
