5.4.2 Measuring aperture 20 mil (optional)
For measurements with the 20 mil measuring aperture, other
geometric arrangements are required for the lighting and
measuring window. For this purpose, the REA ScanCheck
3n requires a greater distance from the code. This can be
obtained with the optional 20 mil adapter accessory.
The 20 mil adapter is mounted on the base panel of the REA
ScanCheck 3n with snap fasteners and a switching mandrel
as shown. It adheres at this point without tools. Only once the
adapter is correctly fitted can the device be switched
automatically to the optional operating mode 20 mil.
Additionally, it is also necessary to shift the attachment with the
control panel fully forwards to the front stop position. Only with a
complete stop is the device switched to the optional operating
mode accordingly. Otherwise, a corresponding error message is
issued.
Following correct installation of the adapter and positioning of the
control console,
the REA ScanCheck 3n automatically detects the
setting for the “
20 mil aperture
” and shows this in the display. If
one of the two pre-settings is not implemented correctly, the
screen displays a corresponding error messag
e: “
Invalid
measuring aperture
”.
