With activation of the check digit function
a check digit test takes place with the standard code 39.
With this, the check digit can be tested according to Modulo 10 or Modulo 43. If this function is not
activated, no check digit test takes place.
If the HIBC function has been activated, deactivation of the check digit function has no significance
because with these code types check digit controlling is always specified and included.
Codes
can also be checked without a structure test. For this purpose, “NO” is activated in the
structure test selection field. This is also the factory setting.
HIBC
is the abbreviation for “
H
ealth
I
ndustry
B
ar
C
ode”. HIBC refers on the one hand to a standard
for a special application of a service provider, and on the other hand to a standard for identification
in a delivery label for the healthcare sector.
In both cases, the HIBC code starts with a “+” sign, followed by a stipulated data structure.
The REA S
canCheck 3n checks whether the “+” sign exists and if the check digit is correct.
It is planned that later software versions will also be capable of checking the additional data
structure.
Furthermore, the structure check can take place in accordance with ANSI MH10.8.2, whereby data
designators are used.
With
code 32
it is only possible to switch on the ANSI function, which only permits a limited ratio as
described above.
