5.6.1.3.3 <3> Settings
– Sub-menu <3> Evaluation
This setting menu permits general setting options such as e.g. the
type of evaluation or the selected class (1st page for the selection of
the evaluation), which apply for all of the subsequent measurements
until a further setting change.
If the correct settings are subject to corresponding quality agreements
or code quality requirements as specified by the customer, the
respective settings can be implemented here.
Only in this way is it guaranteed that the evaluations with the REA
verifier will be performed correctly.
If implemented settings are to be discarded, the
Back
button or
<ESC>
must be actuated.
<OK Enter>
activates the respective menu
item.
After activation of the desired parameters, the settings can be accepted immediately
(<Store>)
or it
is possible to scroll to the next screen page by guiding the cursor to the
Next
field and pressing the
<OK Enter>
button.
On the
first menu screen
for
evaluation
it is possible to implement
the most important basic settings:
Selection of the
evaluation type
either per ISO/IEC 15416-2016
(currently: with 0.1 steps with the evaluation class), the older
issue from 2000 (with integer steps with evaluation class 4, 3, 2,
1, 0), per ANSI X3.182 (Grade A, B, C, D or F, also contains
testing per ANSI/UCC5) or per GB/T 14258-2003.
If an update is performed with older devices, it is necessary to
enter a licence code in order to activate the evaluation per
ISO/IEC 15416(2016). This can be requested from REA
Elektronik by quoting the S/N of the verifier.
The
selected grade
sets out the required minimum quality class,
which should be attained in the following bar code tests via all
activated parameters. In case of testing GS1 symbologies, in the
majority of cases at least class 2 (1.5 = satisfactory) is required
(see also GS1 General Specifications, chapter 5.5f). Some retail companies and logistics
companies require attainment of the next higher class 3 (2.5 = good).
