14. Electro-static discharge on the device can result in the destruction of the electronic unit and
the laser diode. In environments with a risk of high electrostatic charging (plastic sheet
manufacturing and the like), countermeasures must be taken. Mats like those deployed in
the electronics industry (dull black!) can be used for discharging at the workplace, for
instance. If the air is very dry, the risk of static charging is significantly higher.
15. Measurement results must be verified by the user. Implausible measurements (e.g. when
the device was moved during the measuring process) must be weeded out.
16.
ATTENTION! Never hold the device as shown in the image on the left below. This will
result in the finger touching the outlet window of the laser beam.
A) The finger covers the emitted laser beam and
B) The filter pane will be soiled with fingerprints.
Both of these outcomes will interfere with the laser beam, which will distort the
measurements and even make measurement impossible.
Attention: Never place fingers on the red light pane
Recommended holding method
Please also ensure the clear lens is not soiled
17. To remove the Ethernet cable, the latching lever must be pushed downwards.
The cable must not be exposed to mechanical stress (tensile stresses and/or
lateral pressure loads).
